Anyone got a Nexstar 3 HDD enclosure?

Friend of mine had one of those cheapy ones and hdd used to cook in it....and then the hdd died. He then decided to buy another less cheapy one with a new hdd and it cooked also.....and eventually the hdd died. He them decide to buy the nexstar3 and another new hard drive and it didnt cook so much and he was happy......then one day i went to his house and the nexstar was gutted after the fan stopped working.....and the hdd cooked....and the hdd died. My friend no longer uses external hdd enclosures.

Nexstar is probably better than the rest, but ... ;)

Eek, poor guy. I've heard they're not too bad.

I'm looking at getting an enclosure, have my eyes fixed on the Cooler Master X-CRAFT RX-3SB 2.0 ESATA/USB - read good things about it. It has USB2.0 and also eSATA so it will be as speedy as an internal drive, lovely stuff.
 
Personally i have nothing against then, but i only use then as storage drive (ie turn on - copy - turn off) A lot of peeps use then 24/7 and really they are now meant for that.
 
Yeah that seems a bit weird a the Nexstar doesn't seem to have a fan in the first place ;)

Am gonna check out that Coolermaster one suggested, how much are they going for, just as a comparison to the Nextstar?

My apologies, Had a long day !!! This is the one he had. Not the Nexstar 3, but the Nexstar 370.
