Anyone got a SAD Lamp, do they work?

My dad uses one in the winter and I do believe it’s works.

It’s not the UV that’s the treatment but the temperature of the light (K rating) that helps our brains. We can tell if light is natural or not because most bulbs are not that temperature, which results in a whiter light.

edit: they help best in winter as you can spend whole days without seeing natural light if you get into work before sunrise and leave after sunset. When I was in retail I’d get only the 10 mins it took to go get a sarnie at lunch to see the sun as the store had no windows on the floor I worked on.

I've got one of the sunrise / sunset simulation alarm clocks. Found I wake up much better with it.

The new office at work also has 'daylight' LED lights installed and they do seem to be better than standard. Downside is when you go outside at the end of the day and its chucking it down / dark you get a right shock as it was a nice sunny day 2 mins before!

Yes, had one for years and makes quite a difference.
Also, a wake-up lamp, simulates sunrise. again had one for years and years (along with blackout curtains).. So for me sunrise is the exact same time every day, and it gently wakes you (unlike an alarm clock). This alone makes a big difference too.
My old one died late last year, was ~12 years old... Bought a new one and its MUCH better. Lumie Bodyclock Glow 150.
Not cheap, worth every penny!
