Hi there,i have a bricked Saphire 4850 512MB (single slot cooler) and i cant seem to flash the bios in windows 7 x64. I tried all the command prompt stuff with it runing as admin but it just doesnt work. When i try to find the card with RBE it says it cant find an ati card but when i try ATIWinflash directly it shows it up no bother, but i cant flash it because its says "subsystemID's mismatch". I dont have a USB stick or any floppy or blank cd's so i dont know what to do:confused:

Is there anyway i can modifiy the original BIOS (found it on techpowerup) so that it matches the BIOS thats on the card and allow it to be flashed?

U can make a bootable dos disk using a cd google it as u really need to be in dos to flash graphics cards

Ok i managed to get it flashed in windows eventualy to the correct BIOS but theres weird lines etc coming up on the screen, the guy who was using it before me has some stupid BIOS on it and the fan would stop spinning and it would over heat and crash randomly then he bricked it when trying to flash a better BIOS onto the card with a better fan profile apparently and all he got was a black screen after that. So i guess the thing is well and truly knackered meaning i dont have a usable graphics card because the 9800GT i just bought from here hits silly temps whilst playing games and hits 100c on furmark in about a minute:eek::mad::confused:

Visit techpowerup website, lots of original bios's on there,if you have a bricked gpu add in a second graphic card then you can flash the bricked card

I just went through them on techpower up for the last hour, the cards GPU is fried its artifacting ,the guy was letting it reach burning hot temps and it was crashing on his machine then i suggested a BIOS mod/new BIOS to fix the fan profile as it would stop spinning randomly sometimes quickly sometimes it would take hours or a day,it was weird. He put a BIOS on it and bricked it and just bought a new card so i took it off him as its been laying around collecting dust for months and i've managed to flash it by using my iGPU as the display and RBE/ATIWinflash to the original sapphire BIOS's and the ones that work are great but they cant fix the frazzled GPU lol. It's wrecked:eek:
