Anyone have a Blade Server Setup at home?

If you actually want a real server, then HPs DL380/ ML370 series are very very good indeed, you can get 2 dual core xeons in them, which will run a lot of virtual machines. They're also wonderfully reliable...

HP are also quicker to fix generally...

We have had very good support from HP.

We run 2 DL380's
1 DL385 (couldent get dual core xenons at the time :( )
3 DL360

and a big tower (ML570 i think)

Had kit 1 -3 years and only thing thats gone wrong is one hdd failiure. Rang them up and had one next day.

they can be very good, a hundred or so of our servers have a guarenteed 6 hour fix time from HP, anytime day or night, 6 hours from when we call, whatever is wrong will be fixed...it's not cheap but very impressive...

not really relevent, but it shows they have some confidence in their hardware

We use HP servers exclusively at work. Have over 200 servers and very rarely (touch wood) have a problem.

When we do the HP 4hour support cover is spot on :).

Well worth the extra expenditure IMO.
