I will be discrete and go to e-mail if necessary, I need to find out why everyone locally is having serious issues with not being able to make or receive calls on 2G or 3G on the EE network around SY13 2BT Since Orange became EE a slightly patchy service has become unusable with both 2G and 3 G phones. There's no plans for 4G round here. They were supposedly "upgrading" the mast at Prees reservoir, but since then it's become useless, 20 plus attempts even stood outside to make a call. Missed call alerts coming hours later, same with texts, sometimes even the next day. If I buy a 3G phone will the "booster box" EE sent to connect to my router definitely work in the house? It is not compatible with my 2G phone. I assume cell phone calls are then routed over the internet? My internet here is over copper wires, not fibre, so pretty slow! Thanks! I have tried different phones, it's definitely a network issue. Even with full signal strength showing there are continual issues, connection seems entirely random. I have even heard by rumour EE has removed the local mast and our hamlet relies on connecting to masts further afield. If I drive nearer Whitchurch my phone works fine. What I cannot get my head around is 5 bars of signal strength, but no connectivity. Once connected I never get dropped calls or noise. I was even wondering if the local mast could be overloaded and one has to wait for a slot to be vacant. Pure speculation by myself though.... EE have been polite, but no resolve is forthcoming at all. Anyone have opinions or a means of actually finding out a hardware level? Thanks again. Historically locals get no O2 or Vodaphone signals, yet Vodaphone show good coverage on their map for 2G phones only. What's the difference between 2g and 3G please? I only seek basic voice comms via my call phone.
