Anyone have trouble finding shoes that fit?

Only place I get my trainers from is Sports Direct or shoes from Clarks. 4 hours and 5 shops looking for trainers last week :(

Look for shoes on Herring Shoes and try a number of different ones. Many good manufactures make rebranded shoes for them (Eg. barker, Loake, etc). Before you buy Google for which rebranded shoe they are and how they fit. They are made using a 'last' (shape) and these vary between shoes. Some are narrower than others, longer than others, etc.

My left foot is size 8 and my right foot is size 5 1/2 due to my ankle/foot going under the back wheel of a car when I was 11 years old. I just buy size 8 reebok classics as it seems to be all that I can wear with some comfort. I don't get any blisters or any other problems really and I am an electrician on my feet all day and up and down ladder.

I can't wear proper shoes as I would be blistered to buggery so just tend to wear black reebok classics. I think I would look a bit stupid if i wore two different size shoes lol.

Size fourteen limits my choice quite a lot... pretty much everyone makes shoes up to size thirteen, but then quite a few companies stop there or only have a section of their range in the larger sizes.

I'm a size 14 in a B fitting. Note also that UK size 14 is EU size 48 which may help. I've started getting mine from 4feetshoes. Their Oliver range by Justin Reece is a decent fit for me. They're a bit wide for me - I have to have them laced up tight. I've also tried the Matthew boots by Justin Reece but they made mincemeat of the back of my heels.

I'm an 8 and ½.

Sketchers are really comfortable for me, when I was in America they sold loads of half sizes.

Over here they don't seem to though :(

I need some new ones and have been looking.

I came to the conclusion that I must have narrow feet (or narrow heels at least) and that my right foot is a different size to my left since that's the one always rubs the most. I'll find a shop to have my feet measured and see what they recommend.

Speak to your doctor or local hospital. They should be able to put you in touch with an orthopedic shoe maker like Bolton Bros. And either you'll be able to expense the resulting shoes as work wear or you won't pay VAT because they're classed as a medical device or both.

Half sizes are easy to come by online but yeah instore they are a pain in the bum, I always check in the stores first but 9 times out of 10 have to order online for the brands i need half sizes in.

I actually just bought a pair of Sketchers for the first time this morning, someone likened them to bowling shoes earlier which they do a bit but they're just so comfy :)

lol

you have No idea what it's like trying to find decent footwear that fits.

I am a wide size FOUR. in other words a five.

I've long since given up bricks an mortar stores.

"These suit me, Do you have them in a size 5 ? (not pushing my luck for a wide 4)"
"Childrens section is over there Sir"

"Sorry ? Are you insinuating that even though I have 3 daughters all older than you, have paid my 25 year mortgage off the long way and am in my 50's that because I don’t have ClodHopper Flipper feet I'm not a Man" ?

No... I shop for footwear online only !!

Herring do a wide selection of wide and very wide fits across a few brands including some for decent prices like the above...worth a try? Exceptional customer service and no quibble returns policy too..

Seen these guys around before but never bought anything from them so think I'll give them a bash, cheers!

I have always had problems getting shoes that don't give me blisters on the heels and soles.

The only shoes I've found that fit me properly are Caterpillar and Rockport.

My mate buys all his shoes from the old Kays and Littlewoods Catalogues. He has a Club foot.
