Anyone having issues with xbox live?

I can connect, but the main screen showing how many friends online and messages i have etc doesn't appear

I'm having the same issues, tells me whos online, but can't fully sign in nor add friends/check messages.

The white dots just keep constantly flashing round the console.

Seems like its all down. We were in the middle of a decent session of COD4 as well.

I am aswell, kicking me off, won't let me play COD4. Friends are OK though.

oh thank goodness I'm not the only one then!!!!

I thought I'd borked me Live settings up, as I went to play hexic, it said I needed to update to play, so i said "ok" then it went to "apply update" then stopped there for 10 mins or so, so I cancelled the update.

Since then, it says I'm signed in, and the side bar that comes out when you press the guide button, shows all my friends online, messages etc, but the main dash says "sign into xbox live"

A friend of mine is in ok though he wanted a blast on Halo3

Both got BT connections

Mine has been playing up since about 8pm.

It wouldnt load up my dash board, just kept hanging on the loading screen.

COD4 has been ok online but just went to go on Pro Evo 2008 and I couldnt connect to any matches etc.

I'm on Entanet (BT)

Could be due to "300" being cheap and everyman and their dog downloading it....

Or it could be MS making it look like a live fault and stopping everyone from downloading so they don't make much of a loss

It's been an utter mess since the fall update tbh. It's getting really pathetic when XBL actually 'lags' the 360 to the point where you think it's locked up. Earlier today I tried to play an xvid and the buggering console just sat there for about a minute before it started playing.

Tonight all I can see are peeps going coming on and off because of it e.g Andybtsn

Mines all fine atm, im on Sky BB (EasyNet)
Having a multiplayer blast on Kane & Lynch now,lol.

Is it normal then for Live to sometimes make the console slow right down/seemingly lock up then? Yep, im a xbox 360 noob,lol
When exiting game lobbies etc, mines sometimes just stops responding, ending up with me resetting the console.
It cant be the console, as before i used live it never did it.
