Anyone having trouble with PeerGuardian?

Peer Guardian 2? How many IP's is it blocking? I usually have to click disable to update my lists, then click enable when finished.

I had the 0 IP problem a while back, I think you have to delete the lists folder:

C:\Program Files\PeerGuardian2\lists

then try and download again. If that doesn't work, unistall the programme, delete any folders that are left, reboot, reinstall and then try updating again.

Also more info to be found here:

thanks :) i had this problem. deleted the "lists" folder (in fact there were 2 in there), redownloaded them, and now shows it is blocking more IP's as normal rather than 0 :)

Just thought Id pop xp on to see If it get the updates with a clean instal, but its still the same, so there must be a prob with the PG2 site.

PG2 updates have always been seriously flaky for me, have to run the Updates around a dozen times before it finally updates and even then the update download are like custard slow.

If your having probs with the standard lists, add the custom lists from the bluetack site above. They generally cover the same ip's anyway, so your'll be covered either way ;)

Its just decided to work properly now...... Supid thing, so problem fixed at last, untill the next time it decides to mess up updating that is.

anyone know when peerguardian plans to bring out a vista compatible verison? it says on their site that its top priority, yet its been like that for months.

I just read through that and theres no way im going to try use something like that on my machine, it requires disabling some of the security checks and such. I would rather simply not use peerguardian then use it in that state where they cant make it work properly for vista (by properly, i mean without having to disable secuirty and such).

Ive just added the lists from the bluetack site, is it safe to remove the peerguardian lists and just use the bluetack lists?

Thanks

I currently use both lists, i personally wouldn't delete any of them. Sorry i can't say how safe you will/won't be if you do decide to delete any.

Thanks for the reply, the bluetack lists seem to update with no problems, but the peerguardian ones seem to have problems updating quite often.
