Anyone here done time in jail?

Yeh I can imagine them being well built guys. Were the inmates violent and bad tacklers?

There were a few that loved to fly into challenges. I got one of them that sent me flying. However they aren't allowed to be violent. Playing football there is a privelege. If they're seen to be violent and hacking away at people all the time then they get the privelege of playing football every week taken away. So for the most part they are well behaved.

A lot of them are pretty crap people though. You try talking to them in the match and they just grunt.

Mate was in for two months, said it was a piece of p*ss. Basically said it was really boring but wasn't intimidating or anything. He didn't have any bad days in there. Unless your a **** then no-one bothers you apparently.

some prisons are worse than others obviously, some are also poorly run.

anyone ever watch that docu about the undercover reporter beeing a warden? i think it was on the bbc a few years ago. prisoners ran the place pretty much

Nope but I have visited a few because of my job. Just imagine being the new boy at a low-risk Prison facility and being shoved into a dorm that houses another 14 crims and the door gets locked behind you at 7pm and isn't opened again until 7am.

Two of my friends went to juvi for 3 months for robbery - it was something very out of character for them and they are really nice down to earth blokes, but they owed some money to some unsavoury characters.

They both tried to keep their heads down and keep to themselves but they both got confronted by a group of lads on separate occasions. One of them stood up for himself and gave back what he got, they left him alone, but the other one got a kicking and didn't defend himself, after this he got a lot more kicking in.

They both said drugs were readily available in there.

They both vowed never to go back, ever, ever again.

An old friend is in the now, he quite likes it. Got an apprentice ship out of it and gets some weekends out.

wait, can u explain the weekends out bit?

You mean hes aloud to nip down to the shops for some bread, that kinda thing?

I got arrested once, was never charged though, got off with a caution, they kept me in a cell for a few hours and this alone made me never want to be incarcerated, it was horrible.

I have a friend who is currently serving time for drug related reasons. He was guilty but I feel sorry for him. He is a really nice guy and will not suit prison at all and I imagine when he comes out he will be verry verry careful as it means he now has to start uni 3 years late amongst the other 100s of bad things.

To be fair he was caught Es in a local "club". (it is really poor, it isn't a proper club but it is a bit more than a pub or bar.) He had honestly purchased them to sell to mates and had only gone in for a few mins but it is his own stupid fault for going in and getting them out.

I am quite happy for people to damage their own body through these substance but taking a large number into a public venue is asking for it.

Dats y when they dem pigs come for me i pop and dont stop till they all drop.

I have been cautioned a ridiculous amount of times in my early teens and most likely escaped by the skin of my teeth from a few months inside more than likely:eek:.

O.P.
Not the sort of Question that gets an Answer unless you are Trusted, Well known & Discreet & Public forums are not.
Also anybody that opens up is just criticised & mis quoted & then it gets brought up for Months on end whether you have reformed or not.
Damned if you do, Damned if you don't.

A few childhood friends went to prison. Most of them had no trouble at all. The only one i know that had a hard time was the weakest of the lot. It seems to be a place where bullying is endemic, so if you are skinny or shy i wouldnt like to try the place.

Drugs were easy to get in and one guys dad used to bring it in for him. I dont need to describe where the hash went with butter added.

It is not that Bullying is endemic it's just that caging people brings the worst out in them, Treat a man like an Animal & he acts like an animal.

That's also very true but there is no other alternative to be honest. I've given some thought to this myself and can never see education working for the majority of people i know that went to prison. Even if they had qualifications they wouldnt work as its easier to rob and sell drugs.

Personally, I think that'd its good if people post about their experiences or a friend's experiences of jail (no matter how short-lived).

I've seen some posters on these forums associate jail with hotels...doesn't sound like that to me...

True.

Do you know what type of rehabilitation programs there are in (British/English) jails?

Are there any at all, and if so, do they work?
