Anyone here own a rabbit?

The claws are normal, at least for an outdoor rabbit! My rabbit only spends the night in his hutch, rest of the day he has the whole garden to himself.

Be careful when picking him up, if he starts kicking let him go! I still have scars from 2 years ago from trying to pick my rabbit up!

NO LETTUCE! Don't know why but dont give it them. I don't know what the problem with bread is though :confused: ours eats it all the time. We usually leave a slice on the side until it goes rock hard. Loves it!

I have two rabbits, and they are not too dificult to look after, just takes more time than first thought. You need to clean the litter tray daily, and make sure she has fresh hay and water all the time.

When picking her up, lift her back legs off the floor and hold under her front legs too, make sure you hold her back legs so she doesnt kick!! you can then hold her up against you and she will make her self comfortable.

Watch out for her eating wood, and as you have seen they like wires! a small amount of veg is ok for her, but watch she doesnt have the runs after ;)

Both of ours are litter trained and it makes looking after them so much easier!!
 
About ten years ago I bought my daughters a rabbit each and they (rabbits) were monsters. You couldn't get anywhere near them because they would bite and scratch. I tried to tame them but got so scratched that it was useless and my daughters wouldn't have anything to do with them. I got them into a big bin and drove down to where the new Britannia Stadium was being built and tipped them out. The following day I went on one of my runs and looked over in the area I had dropped them and there was a woman with three kids holding the rabbits :eek:

:/ Why didn't you take them to the RSPCA or the like to be rehomed?

Occasional bread is ok, but its because of the sugar in it. Not good for bunnies teeth

I pwned a rabbit once. With an air rifle.

IME they're bad pets. They kick, and when they get old things go wrong with them and they smell. They go senile too and bite/kick/become evil. Guinea pigs make better pets, but they do nothing.

Two seperate vets sexed it as female...And it kept trying to hump my sister's female bunny...So we got rid of it...

Then a few years later, my grandad let slip that he'd cooked it :/
