Unfortunatley this is yet another insurance related thread..

I have just bought a place in a Manchester postcode and my insurance is up for renewal on the 19th.

My current insurer (Sky) wont touch Manchester postcodes. Unfortunately Sky have always been the cheapest by a considerable amount for me so it looks like I'm up poo creek.

Has anyone else experianced this issue and gotten around it with any particular insurance companies? I wouldnt mind but its not even a dodgy part of Manchester its way out on the outskirts.

The car is a Toyota Corolla.

Admiral keep coming up cheapest for me with an M27 postcode.

Ditto, Admiral were about £300 cheaper than about a dozen others with an M26 postcode.

Was getting £1000 quotes + for an i10 :o and £4000 quote on the phone from LV!

In the end Admiral were my only choice at £700.

M3 here and yes specialist insurers won't touch you. Admiral but be prepared to get shafted.

My car in Wigan, below average postcode, parked on drive - £500

My car in M3, parked in a secure underground carpark with cameras and 24hr concierge, surround by 200+ cars all worth more including some VERY expensive motors - £1200

(Bare in mind my car's worth £1500 if that! And they wonder why people don't bother with insurance!)

I've tried Admiral and it was £1100, nearly double the cost at the previous post code.

I've not tried Axa cheers I'll give them a whirl, still waiting for Noel Dazely to call me back and Adrian Flux is another to try.

Anymore for anymore?

Thanks for the replies so far.
