Anyone interested in joining the french foreign legion?

You can be an officer in the FFL without being French, I think, though it is obviously not as easy to do :)

You can become French earlier if you are injured - Francais par le sang versé, I believe they call it (French by spilled blood). This is however true of any of the services.

They march at the end of any parade that includes them, including for instance the Bastille Day parade. This is because their march is slower than everybody else's, for a reason I've now forgotten.

They used to not ask any questions and take anybody who shows up under a pseudonym, today this is no longer the case as far as I know. I think it is still possible to enlist under an assumed identity and keep it when you leave, thus effectively starting over - though you can no longer do this to get away from crimes :)

And this pops it's head up.

Things are not looking ideal in my life at the moment. My degree is on the road to nowhere due to me being a lazy ******* earlier in the year (got 30 weeks of work to do in less than a month), I'm in a complete quandary as to what to do with my life etc.

If only I could get some breathing space. There are so many things floating around my mind at the moment. Gah.

French Foreign Legion is probably the sole reason France had an empire at first. They are amongst the finest in the world. Much like the Gurkha's.

Lol at people saying they are cannonfodder.
