Basically..

I have a 20mm thick piece of clear perspex which I need to cut into a circle to cover a well in my new extension. Does anyone know any companies that could help in this respect? I could get it done myself but I'd be happier getting in contact with companies that have more experience in the field.

Bit of an odd request but I'd thought I'd check here before I spent the next 30 mins trawling google (initial google didn't come up with anything).

Cheers,

Poolybit

Ah ok. Never really thought of that to be honest. I'll have a look see what we've got around this area in the way of glass companies.

Cheers :)

I had perspex cut by my local glass company

Thinking about it...how thick was your perspex? I know they will cut things like 4/6 mm perspex but I dunno bout the thicker stuff, I'll still get in contact with them tho.

AhHA.

Of course. I'm sure they will take time out of their busy schedule of promptly breaking out of maximum security prisons to help me with my extension ;)

I think i'm right in thinking that its not cut at all, you just score it and snap it off.

Any laser cutting operation should be able to do that for you. Look them up in a local phone directory.
I just chatted with my friend who works at a laser cutting shop. He says they'd charge about $5 (£2.66) for such a job.

Honestly though dave, we could put some people down the well first and nobody would ever know.. I saw it and it's pretty deep. :D

you don't want to do it like that...

measure the diameter and get a local glass company to cut you.....

a piece of 6mm plate glass.

Government won't let us. HAS to be 20mm thick cause its part of the floor. As said by whoever gave us building permission.
