meh, tbh if I WAS going to use windows for a server (bleh) I'd much rather have 2k than any of the more recent ones, but thats down to me having worked on 2k and not on the latest editions

Yup this works a treat on the university computers where it's not supposed to be accessed

Alternatively you could just put a shortcut on your desktop.

Does it REALLY matter though, honestly? If it's hardly being used and isn't used intensively then it doesn't. Also theres no reason you can't programme a scheduled restart once a week to keep it running smoothly enough.

But then I suppose some people are quite anal about things like performance..

I use Radmin quite a lot.

Ok, so it's not free, but it has some pretty useful features.

ok to put an end to the arguing lol I am using windows xp, its a low use server and I chose to use ultraVNC cause it does everything I need. Thanks for all the help
