My Mums looking to get her dsl router changed and I need to get the dsl user/pass off of it. Obviously the username is visible, but password is starred out.

My first thought was telnet, but unfortunately it just allows access to the busybox filesystem, not a nice telnet menu system :(. My busybox knowledge is not up to the task, and theres no more/less not even vi to use to look into interestingly named files.

Router is D-Link G604T, Any thoughts?

Some routers mask the password box on the web GUI - however, if you view the HTML source for the page, you can see the password in plain text. This worked for me recently but I can't remember which make of router it was - sorry!

My Netgear has the password in plain text in the backup file so worth trying a backup of the config and then opening the saved file in notepad.
