Anyone know about the process for obtaining a CSCS card?

Do exam, get card, will be a local testing center for you id imagine its about 30 pounds
I just got my CSCS ECS Gold and that cost me 48 with JIB grading (but theres no exam cos ecs works on your nvq3)

Edit: Will add u may also need ur CCNSG to get on big sites which is a two to three day course costing about 190
Check with sites though as some allow CSCS to over-ride all requirements for CCNSG.

Renewed mine a few times. What a con. Doesn't prove a thing - was done each time in a few minutes. Whoever created it must be wetting themselves.

I used to have a lovely gold one.

As said do test get card, pretty simple.

Yeah, mine was silver and glittery. Then they updated everything and now it's a boring black.

And on the subject of fire extinguishers, you all know what I meant! :p

Black card holder here

Buy the book (or the app) for the right HS&E test - read / practice, take the test, pass, apply for the most appopriate card

Simples

Last test took me 6 1/2 minutes .............

i got more plastic than toys r us it is getting beyond a joke now you need this and that for almost anything next i will need one to take a dump and clean my butt

My local test center where I did my car theory does them. Just booked online and was available the next week. It's so easy just common sense. I need to do my ECS card to get JIB but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Your best bet to get the labourers card is to do the One day CITB H&S Awareness course then do the touch screen test if you have o other qualifications that may apply.

The awareness course is about £140 or so however so not cheap (might be cheaper by distance learning maybe).

You can get a temp card for 6 months that is non renewable, but it has conditions attached to it.

Although the touch screen test is relatively straight forward some of the questions can throw you, like colours of fuses, cement with plasticiser, so its worth going through the book to pick out those you don't know and couldn't guess.

The test has about 10 questions that are scenario, things like Bob turns up on site what should he do first a,b,c etc. Then you get on to the normal questions.

P.s height of a handrail is 950mm with no gap between it and an intermediate greater than 470mm, just so you know.

I'm on my 2nd CSCS card. First one was platinum, which I got shoehorned into when CSCS first launched. Now I have a white professionally qualified persons card.

Oh yeah I had to have two as it couldn't cope with having more than one trade  So glad I don't need to go to site any more.
