Damnit I picked this up late night. Have been free of this kind of rubbish for years. Tired browsing, looked like a Firefox update.

Booted into Safe Mode and ran Malwarebytes. Said it found 2 problems which it quarantined.

Rebooted and it is still there. :(

Dl and ran rkill.scr, which does kill it dead and only take about 2 seconds so cheers for that. :)

Still, the virus is still there on reboot. Suppose I should reboot into safe mode after running rkill and run Malwarebytes again?

Well, I just did the noob thing and I think it has worked.

rkill is a cool little programme I am so glad it was mentioned on here.

It told me exactly where the .exe was hiding so have just gone into the file where it was hiding and deleted it.

Rebooted and no virus on startup. :)

Will still run malwarebytes and Spybot just to be safe though.

Well chaps I don't know if I was just lucky or not.

rkill found the .exe so I just deleted it.

I then ran MalwareBytes which found nothing. Spybot found nothing.

I reckon I killed it. :D

So many reports of it being a nightmare to get rid of on Win7. it has lead me to think, is there a possibility that the fact that it installed itself onto an SSD, it was easier to delete (leave no trace as it is not mechanical)?
