anyone know if adidas trainers sizes are made big or small ?

Shoes vary in size as every company has their own last (the mould around which the shoe is made). Shoe size is also only a function of the linear length of a last and there is no standard for width and shape. There are also a number of different sizing systems (not just by country/region) so not all size 9s are the same, even within the same brand/company as they may use a different last for different models.

Shoe sizes are far from standardised.

adidas have gotten smaller in the last 12 months. Ive always had adidas and they;ve always been a 12, and when looking this time ive had to get a 13! I tried on 5 different pairs of different trainers too. The person in the adidas shop said they've noticed a similar trend as well. My work shoes, footy boots and basketball boots are all 12.

a shoe size is a shoe size , there is certain standards that they comply too.

I don't agree. I'm a size 12 but I've tried size 12s that were much too big and I've also tried some that I couldn't get my foot into. so much so that I asked for another size 12 of the same shoe to try because I thought the first were labelled wrong.
