All the new rpgs are very nice and all but i dont like the menus in most of them i.e leveling up, symbols driven upgrades and powers trees and stuff like that.

Dungeon Siege 1 was pretty good for keeping you out of things like that and was still a awesome rpg.

Is there any modern equivalent out there? Where it tries to keep you in the game and not needing to ever see a menu of sorts cept an inventory at the most.

I know DS3 is out soon so im hoping reviews are positive from ocukers but if not is there a diff game for me.

I have witcher but i dont like the combat 3 styles or the potions stuff or the icon/symbol driven interface for powers and stuff. Same basically with darksiders, deadspace, mass effect was a nice game but i hated the character screens and had no idea what to really do with em for leveling up or the item stuff. Got lotro, Fo3 wasnt too bad but the game dragged too much and got bored very easily and i was always been in menus too much for stats, inv, and stuff which i didnt like.

Yeah i know most pc gamers dont want dumbed down stuff and actually like stats, leveling up tho i duno if u guys like all the new for past 5+ years symbol based menus thats came from console ports but still anyhow if anyone knows somit i might like let me know. I have had a go at almost all the major ones thats popular and put off with stuff.

edit - warning, im very picky lol.

Dragon Age II is pretty dumbed down. Also, Mass Effect 2 if you want a decent shooter RPG.

You don't need to spend any time in an inventory in ME2, you basically just choose your weapons and then harvest some materials for upgrades. Very straight forward (sucks that they dumbed it down from ME 1 though).

Dragon Age II has a bit more inventory/item management, and skill/stat points.

Hmm looks ok but what worries me is that it might not be very character driven as in story wise with cutscenes and voice overs for everything as the specs say hdd space about 400mb which i cant see there been voice overs for every text is there?

Tho it did look nice and it looked a lot more simpler than most of the rpgs in past years which is what im lookin for. But id also like the game to look like and be fully voiced like mass effect, dragon age just without all the fluff of developing a character as i just wana concentrate on gameplay and story.

I might still have a little go on the demo for torchlight tho. But still looking for modern crpg but very simple menus and levelling and stuff so i can enjoy nice 3d world, gfx, voice overs, story.

I'll say it again: Titan quest!

hmmm actually, not much of a story (at least I didnt read it!) no voice overs. However, it is very similar style to DS1 and so much fun, especially if you do it coop.

Played oblivion but stopped for some reason or another. Just dont really get on with ES series.

Hmm that Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning might be a nice game to get, if its fully voiced and no reading half of the conversations and the skills arnt symbol tree based and has lots of sub quests it might be worth a try. Thanks for that. Only thing that might annoy me is the timed attacks and all the diff attacks to do as im a kinda swing a sword and thats it or spam fireballs if a mage and thats it.
