Just took the rather large step of moving in with my partner :D we've found a great flat.

One thing I'm worried about is the temperature. The hotter the better, ideally. They have night storage heaters, which I don't know much about, and I'm not sure if there's any insulation in the loft. Will this make a cold flat?

I should mention that the living room is pretty spacious at 14 x 14ft, and the bedroom is 16 x 12ft.

Heat rises. Every 'loft' conversion I've ever been in has been ridicliously warm at the best of times. You'll be uncomfortable in the summer I imagine.

There should be plenty of insulation or it won't be up to regulation. As said, I'd worry more about the heat in the summer really. I have a loft conversion and it's regularly 35c + in here.

I used to almost freeze to death in the winter because there was no proper insulation in my attic flat. I would regularly come home from work and get into bed just to keep warm, so get that checked out.

It's extremely hot in the summer and extremely cold in the winter, especially without any insulation :)

In the winter it is just like being outside if you don't have any heating on. Not very nice to come home to after work. Like above, some days it was so cold that getting into bed was the best option!

Depends a lot on your flat though. I live top floor and it's fine. Certainly hot, but i just open some windows or turn my fan on me. In winter I wear a hoody. Less likely to be broken into as well. :p

i own an attic flat. Hot in the summer, cold in the winter. Answer? Windows and heating. They easily solve both issues.

My rooms in the attic with one fair sized skylight, its nice and warm in the summer but can get cold in winter. But I just have to dig out the electric heater and it warms up fast.

Thanks for the replies :) I really hate the cold so will look into insulation. We can access the eaves so is there anything we can put in there? It's a Victorian style house so the ceilings are still pretty high.

I used to years ago after a while it got on my nerves on account of limited space to put posters up.

Ive grown up a bit now though.........I think. :p
