Anyone live in Washington/Sunderland/Newcastle?

London to Washington, Albany Park?

Stay down London.

Mmmm was thinking that....going to have the interview and see how it goes. But yeah, another idea is dividing time between the two places. Or staying north for a year.

I am talking aloud as i haven't been offered anything. :p

Parts of County Durham and Northumberland offer some of the best countryside in the UK.

But yeah, if you're not bothered about that and like a city atmosphere you will probably hate it up this way. Even Newcastle gets stale rather quickly.

I like having easy access to town/city areas but I like being close enough to the countryside as to where it's easy to take off if I want.

If you can afford it then Gosforth and Jesmond have good transport links via the metro
thought jesmond had a bit of a bad rep unless you want to be surrounded by noisy students?

gosforth is a bit hit and miss? I doubt op is moving to millionaires row but if he is a millionaire there's always Runnymede Road although google suggests some houses there are worth as less as 300k but then when your neighbours house is worth 1-3mil your probably going to feel a bit down every time you look out the window :D

Where I lived in Gosforth the houses start at about 700k. Town moor end is where you want to be, Kenton way isn't the desirable area. For jesmond as long as you are near the dene it's generally very good. Same for the streets near the tennis club and the former la sagesse.

I've always been in house shares so renting. Around the 700 mark i guess.

In the NE you could rent a pretty decent place as a single person for that.

My rent is 400 a month and I'm pretty damn happy with where I'm living, I've spent more than double that in the past in other areas as a reference.

Decently sized two bedroom flat, my second room I treat as a hobby room/office.
