anyone not on facebook?

Created an account years ago, havent been on it since couldnt stand the thing, everyone seems shocked when they ask if ive got an account and i say i cant stand it.

They go on like its essential to use it and have an account.

I use it less than I used to. I'm more of reader than a contributor - but I do find it nice to be able to keep in touch with people, certainly with my family and friends who live abroad. However that said I'm losing the love for it a little, and will undoubtedly move away from it in due course.

Kinda related: why do some services insist that you log into the service via your FB account? Some web sites and phone apps are doing this. Thankfully though, some now have the option to log in with Google+ so I use that.

It is by far the easiest way to organise things, keep in touch with people in the other side of the world. And 90% of it's use. Keep track if festivals, restraints, news, companies etc.
I would forget about mist of the small festivals if I hadn't followed them on FB.

Yet again people seem incapable of using a tool in how it suits them, and think they have to use it in a particular way.

I find that the people I know who say they only have Facebook to keep in touch with their family in Australia etc are the ones who post pictures of the fantastic meal they are about to eat for everyone to comment on. Some people just love attention. I don't have FB I have my friends in my phone and my distant family members are just that, distant.

Never been on it.
For a lot of people if you're not on fb, it's like you don't exist to them. At least that's the way it is with a lot of people I used to be good mates with. With that in mind I decided they weren't worth the time as 'mates' after all. Fair weather friends, you might say.

As far as I'm concerned fb is just another tech obstacle to talking to your mates face to face.
Can't be doing with it. That and the endless 'look at my baby' posts I've seen on other peoples home pages. In another couple of years I expect the round of 'I'm getting divorced' posts :p The circle of life and all of that...

Oh god. Throw bloody TimeHop in to the mix and you get to see the same ****ing baby photos two years later.

"I can't believe how much they've grown."

Might have to start uploading my reactions and TimeHop those too. I can't believe it was only two years since I didn't care the first time. How time flies! :p

No I don't.
Like the poster who originally posted it, I will NEVER EVER EVER go on a social media website where people post stuff and talk about things.
What type of idiot does that doofer?

You're confusing Social Media with Public Forums Dave, the Forums I use don't track me around the Internet, snoop on my spending habits, snoop on who I talk to, wants to know who my friends and family are, access my Private life in anyway I don't want them to, they don't care Dave, here no-one even knows my real name Dave, or where I actually live, how old I am, or what sex I am Dave, how's Stoke mate? Or my phone number, I'm sure if someone was really intent on finding out that information they probably could but I really don't want to make it easy for anyone that would want to Dave, specially not some Corporation so they can make a profit from selling all that information because I value what little privacy I can get when online. Can you see the difference between Social Media sites and just an online Forum now Dave? Good.

I was talking about these forums, or more specifically the GD section of... :)

I only really use facebook to keep in touch with friends, don't really post anything on there any more.

Likewise, although the utter crap posted by the majority of 'friends' is really starting to make me question why I bother. I wish there was a way of using the messenger app without having a Facebook account, that would be gravy as there's a group of friends on there that speak daily.

You realise you can just ignore what people post, so it doesn't show up.

You can find out more about me from following links on this Social Media site than you can on Facebook.
Most people have their Trusts setup so you could mass email if you so wished.
A lot of people have stuff on their profiles and links in their sigs.
No I can't see the difference and if you think that once you sign up to Facebook people will know your real name or where you live then you don't know how to use it.

Don't be ridiculous.
Who posts nonsense on here?

Yeah, I kind of knew when I was typing it all out in overly simple terms that you still wouldn't be able to get it. Nevermind eh. :)
