Our local chippie has changed hands and the portions of chips from the new staff have become huge.
I got a regular size chips last night and it was almost the size of a football, loads left over.

Does anyone re-heat chips and whats your method?
We sweat them in the oven at 190C for 20 minutes in a tray about 2 inches deep covered in aluminium foil.
It does a decent job but if there are any better options it would be interesting to try them?

They are not as good as when unwrapped straight from the chippie but are decent for a chip buttie.
I toyed with the idea of putting a couple of teaspons of water in with them so that they got even sweatier, not tested than method yet though.
I'm loving the amount of science/effort you've gone to with this hahaha! I'd just save them for hours later when steaming drunk and smash them in hot or cold/like bricks/cardboard with mayo haha

Just tucking into a doorstep chip buttie now, two slices of well buttered Warburtons Toastie bread crammed with "sweaties" and plenty salt and white pepper on them, its not bad at all....

Just "sweated" and chomped the last batch of chips left over from Friday nights monster portion from the chippie.
Good early start for a few jobs in the garden on a Sunday, belly full of two day old reheated chips smothered with some packet mix gravy.

I think I need to invest in a Ninja, it might open up more doors in the reheating department, it seems to reheat chips OK based on feedback from a few posters?

Our family favourite is to use them to make a Spanish omelette.
1. I fry an onion in some olive oil
2. when onion has softened I add the chips,
3. fry for a couple of minutes to reheat,
4. pour over 5-6 whisked eggs (depending on size of the pan/quantity of chips).
5. Cook under a low heat for about 4min
5. Sprinkle abit of cheese on top and finish under a grill

DO NOT ADD SALT! I once accidentally added salt to a McDonald's fries Spanish omelette, and it was too much. Its ready to do if you are used to the habit of adding salt when making an omelette.

That sounds like a win. Thanks for the idea

Any air fryer will do a decent enough job in this regard. Doesn’t have to be a Ninja as such, just they are the most popular.

I think the ninjas reheat setting is an advantage. The chips are already cooked. If you put them in on air fry, they cook more and become overdone. Reheat setting doesn’t cook them at all, it literally just reheats them to nice and hot.

Leftover pizza on reheat is brilliant. Tastes exactly like it did the night before.
