Ok so O2 just called me to say they are putting my bill up by 3.2%. I don't know my contract well enough, but often a contract change means I can cancel my contract. Does anyone know if I can do this with O2? Or does their contracts protect them from people leaveing?

Any help would be welcome. I wont be home for a few hours to have a good read of my contract.

Thanks

Yep, whilst its annoying to have your charge go up whilst in contract it is perfectly okay for them to do this as long as it is below the level of inflation. Only if they increased your charge above the level of inflation would it be a breach of contract.

How much notice have they given you? Usually the way out with things like this is to do with the notice period they give you, not the increase itself. I know that Vodafone contracts say they must give you at least 1 months notice, and I know people who have cancelled free of charge due to only getting a weeks notice.

My email said the change occurs in the February bill, so plenty of notice.
