Looking seriously into buying one of these, used to have a nismo V3 kitted 350Z that I always regretted selling.

I love the look, the interior and the drive. Will need an exhaust to make it sound like it should have out of the factory.

What are your running costs like? rough real world MPG on motorway/town?

I've looked at quite a few cars,

135i/130 - Not massively keen on the look of them.

Focus ST are a bit boring inside, though I do love the 5 pot sound.

S3 - looks classy but a bit boring.

Renaultsport Megane - great drive but not sure on the plastic interior /center console.

Civic Type-R actually really nice cabin, thought it was very comfy. Have to rev it hard to get the best out of it though.

335I/D I actually really like these, probably more practical than the 370 too!

My average MPG on a 2012 370Z is 21 over a week of general driving, mix of motorway and town inc the occasional traffic light GP.

Love the 370, I found it to be the best mix of performance, price and quality. The V6 engine gives a nice sound, turns heads / has more character than the other alternatives you quote.

You're right in saying it's not practical but I have 3 other cars available to me for that. If you are purchasing as your only vehicle then yes you may need to seriously reconsider as you'd struggle to cram your weekly shop in.

I test drove a lot of cars before deciding on the 370. The main alternative I had in mind was the Golf R. It did however just feel and sound boring plus it's far more pricey.

I have a 350, I think they stand out more (the 350 & 370) than a lot of other coupes - but I've always liked to be a bit different and I like my jap cars :)

It's not a practical car, but that's not why you buy one.

It's got a good chassis, front engined and rear wheel drive which is a great combination along with a good handling characteristics, with a nice lazy grunty V6. They're great for cruising and touring, and pretty handy on a track, though they are a bit heavy.

You don't buy them for fuel economy though - mid 20s is a good average.

If you want practicality get a 3 series BMW, if you want a coupe and you liked the 350 - the 370 is a nice upgrage.

From your days of owning a 350 you should have a rough idea of what it's like to service and maintain a Zed. It depends on who you use and what you have done and how much you are willing to spend.

Cheers for the reply mate.

The other half has a more practical car so this is more a toy for me to enjoy, she knows how much I regret selling the 350.

It ticks so many boxes for me, the only down sides are the fuel and road tax for me.

In the 3 years I had the 350 it was mechanically spot on.

Really miss that car!

Around 15-18K which I have saved up.

I've seen quite a few available for that price, but not in the spec I want. Which is Gunmetal grey, GT preferably with NAV.

Fuel isn't THAT bad, and if it's just a bit of a fun car just suck it up! Tax isn't really an issue really if you think about it - so what if it's 400+ just keep money aside of the car! ;)
