I moved my gaming PC downstairs a year or so ago as my gaming room started turning into a bit of a junk room and i didn't use the PC much because of it. I stopped playing games as my PC was getting old and dated and i was struggling to play some of the newer games without stuttering

I have now built myself a new one ready for some new games. I have a Steam controller which is great for racing games and some others, but i am old school and prefer to use a mouse and keyboard on FPS games and RTS.

Does anyone else game on their sofas with a mouse and keyboard? Whats your setup like if you do?

Pics would be good :)

Eurgh the triggers on the steam pad, terrible for driving games they just dont have enough travel.

Anyway, it's always been pad or go home for me as far as PC gaming on the sofa goes, but i'm curious to try something like the roccat sova as they seem to be a good solution.

I just sit there with my keyboard balanced across one knee and just touching the side of the other and my mouse and mat balanced on the other knee. I've managed perfectly well these last six months. :p

I used the Rocat Sova for a while and it worked great. Looking around now you can get it around the £60 mark for membrane version which for me worked fine. There is a long cable as its not wireless, but for myself when I used it, worked fine. I only got rid of it really as I have a main machine on a desk so will play there for RTS and FPS games, but found those games still worked okay on the Rocat. My hands are a little large and I plam grip so found mouse a tad small, but may be a non issue and played lots of hours with Total War Warhammer 2 on the big screen.

For most games Xbox 1 X pad and I use a logitech K400 wireless for general use and media.

+1 for Roccat Sova. It's a bit annoying storage wise given its bulk but I'm glad I bought it.

Also, ditch the Steam Controller and get a Dualshock 4 (PS4) pad. Steam lets you map the gyro on the DS4 so it made my Steam Controller redundant. Love gyro aim in games like GTAV and RotTR - almost as good as M+KB.

Gyro is ace!

For me it fills the accuracy gap between analog sticks and m+k, splatoon 2 on the switch with gyro is a winner!

Yep, although I tend to have full pull activate gyro, then soft pull without so you can fire without going off target.

Might have to get myself a Switch come payday too :D

Been gaming on the sofa using my PC for years. Got myself the Corsair K63 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard and Lapboard for certain titles:

Works a treat.

I honestly recommend the roccat over the corsair. It's smaller and lighter. And a third of the price.
That's what swayed my choice tbh. The Roccat mechanical does feel very nice too. Having to buy the Corsair chassis and keyboard/mouse separately was a no go for me.

It's also wired, comes with a non detachable keyboard, not great for a living room setup and plus Roccat software leaves a lot to be desired.

Meh the lead is long enough, I've not found it a problem at all. I don't recall using the software beyond setting up the lighting profile.

Well you can with an xbox pad, I don't see how you can play on a sofa with a key+mouse.
Recliner seat makes it surprisingly comfortable, actually. I tend to stuff a cushion under my right arm though for a bit more support.
