I'm intrested to know if anyone has had their 360 since it came out and had no issues with it? I mean surly these people that get through 3 or more 360 must just be complete idiots that don't look after their stuff.

I still see 360s used in store in them enclosed units that still work and they must be left running for 7+ hours a day 6 days a week that still work and those 360 must have been launch units.

Mine worked until around Feb 2008 when it RRoD'd on me. To be fair I wasn't even expecting it to last that long given how poorly I treated the dvd tray (drinks/food holder). That was a heavily used 360 though, I played heaps of games heavily for hours each day.

However I brought it back to life as I knew MS's somewhat poor cooling design inside out. It now sits downstairs, should the parents want to access photos/vids that are stored on an external hard disk.

Launch day premium worked fine until Forza 2 killed it. I fixed it though and now its fine and dandy, but i dont let forza 2 anywhere near it.

Nope...mine bust after just over 2 years.

It's just pot luck when it comes to launch units and nothing to do with how they are treated. Mine was never moved, hit and nor did it have anything standing on it. I even covered it at night time for crying out loud! And it RROD'd on me whilst playing CoD 4. After getting it back it lasted a week before RROD'ing on me again, this time whilst playing Burnout Paradise.

Got a Falcon model now :)

I find your post a little offensive, I'm on my 5th console and I am definately NOT and idiot!

T.

I don't blame you for finding it offensive. I'm sure there are more people out there who haven't had a problem than those who have, but that doesn't mean there is no problem. Also, when you consider that those who send their 360's back to MS get either a repair or refurb then their chances of it failing again are probably higher than if they had a new unit.

My best mate went through 3 360's and he kept his on a glass shelf, ventilated all round and never moved it. Now he's not an idiot, but I would say that the OP is for making such a statement. ;)

i'm on my third but not cos i'm an idiot that doesnt know how to look after his own stuff lol

Ive had a core since december 05 (just after launch) but that one had really bad graphical glitches on it, lots of blue and purple, very funky! but didnt quite suit PGR3 at the time lol

the second one had problems reading a couple of disks so i got it changed while it was still in warranty

third one has died on me once with RROD after my warranty expired but before MS announced the extended warranty. i ripped it appart and put some AS5 on the sinks and it's been workin great ever since. I even spray painted it black with the CAD logo (ctrl+alt+del comic) at the beginning of the year :)

Yeah i'm an idiot i'm on my 7th 360. I have one thats still a launch console and one that's been returned 6 times.

Am I only an idiot when I play the one thats frequently broken. My house is like a showhome, if I get a scratch on the wall I touch it up. Why am I able to look after that but i'm clearly an idiot that doesn't look after his stuff regards the 360.

What am I doing to it??

I don't move it. It gets dusted once a week, I only touch it with the faintest of touches to change discs.

The idiots are the people that still despite xbox original LIES about the 360 reliabilty still blame the users. This is despite microsoft issuing rolling 3 year warranties for their pile of **** console.

But no, they made a overheating, noisy disc scratching, dirty disc erroring pile of ****, which they have admitted to and somehow it's my fault.

They fared no better in the prehipal market either. About the only thing that truely is great is the gamepad.

Another multiple 360's idiot here. God I must be stupid for leaving the thing on it's own well ventilated shelf, never moving it and rarely playing it for extended lengths. What a retard.

I've still got my launch console but it had 3 red rings two days ago, turned it off and hasn't repeated yet but sure it's only a matter of time :( fortunately I have an elite upstairs as a backup so my GTA4 progress won't be halted!
