Anyone Re-sitting R.E As Level?

R.E is a quality subject to do at A-level.
If you say it sucks you probably dropped it after GCSE. It gets a lot better after that and well worth doing tbh, unless you can't face thinking about your own existence.

I resat my R.E A levels yeah and did a wee bit better. Came out with a C in the end though as its pretty difficult. About 6 essays for the A2 exam.

I actually wish I'd done RS GCSE. I needed to pick a 9th subject and had it down to RE or Spanish. In the end I went for Spanish cos some mates were doing it, but I didn't like the teacher and it was my weakest subject, so I only got a B.

To be fair, I didn't much like RE either, though I didn't take it beyond year 9. However, to people saying religion is a waste of time and causes suffering, this may well be true - but is a lot of that not down to lack of understanding of faiths? And could that not be avoided with better education about it?

I'd applaud anyone who takes it due to having a genuine interest in the beliefs of others, rather than just seeing it as a doss. I'm not religious at all, but I find it fascinating to read about, because it's such an important part of life to so many people around the world, in one form or another. I'm looking at taking some sort of theology module at some point, but don't have the time for it just now. There's a lot of interesting stuff and some good ideas amongst the other bits :p

The amount of general ignorance and stupidity in this thread is impressive to say the least.

Religion is not the study of religion. Furthermore, if you read the OP, it says he's taking the Philosophy of Religion and Religious Ethics modules, which are all about the critical analysis of religion and ethics. Looking at and trying to understand Platonic and Aristotelian philosophy, various ethical models, arguments for and against the existence of God is slightly deeper and certainly not as simple as many here would make it out to be :)

Thankyou for bringing some sense to the thread dude.

Is there any need to be sarcastic about people wanting to do well? Are you jealous that there are, shock horror, people out there who are smarter than yourself?

I think the other guy was waving his willy about a bit tbh though. The roll eyes was uncalled for though.

sorry mate that's what physics, chemistry and biology are for ;)

You really dont have a clue about R.E Mate. Its actually quite embarrassing to be honest. So for your own sake i would just button it before you make a complete fool of yourself. Ill just give you one hint about the course - Nowhere, throughout the entire 2 years do we study Christianity.

Everyone knows that Christianity isn't a religion, it's a cult.

I don't like the way some people advertise how they did in some sort of attempt to amaze others. I'm sure there are smarter people out there, doesn't take a great deal - but I'd like to feel that what I did at college and I'm doing at Uni shows some sign of intelligence! I definetely don't feel smart though. :o

I think that if he has those grades and he is infact clever enough to gain them then he should boast about it all he likes. Same with flash cars, why buy a flash car? Why not just get a lil banger with a 1litre engine which goes from a to b? To show off ;) It's what lifes all about!
