1. The company I work for is a Ubiquiti reseller and I tested Amplifi when it first came out in the middle of 2016. It was dreadful then and it’s dreadful now. As an example of how ashamed UBNT are of the product, Amplifi isn’t a forum on their own Community. It’s completely separate (and effectively dead) Set of forums all by themselves.
It's a different product line. And in what way is it dreadful, you've not really given any quantifiable reason as to why the product is no good. If I can walk around my house and max out my internet connection, where is it failing?
2. And you do realise that’s 2400 Amazon reviews WORLD WIDE in a bit over 3 years. Amazon do that when there are multiple versions that don’t have enough individual country reviews. It’s done to sell the product when the product isn’t selling.
I am aware how amazon reviews work thank you, this is one specific listing for one specific product - not even the one I was suggesting the OP look into BTW, just the one that is positioned in the market as a competitor to Google nest.
By all means, keep on fooling yourself that Amplifi is an incredible product. It’s not, and that’s the reason it’s in the bargain bin at the moment.
I'm not, I simply stated it was something I was happy with and I answered the OP's question about the capabilities. I even said it sounds like Nest is the best product for the OP?
If you look at these forums across the board you tend to see people recommending stuff they’ve bought. And if some other people buy it then they try it and if it’s good they also recommend it. There is no critical mass support for Amplifi. Why do you think that is?
Probably the same reason why groups of users on forums kid themselves into buying kickstarter/indiegogo junk.
There are two UK based master resellers (there are several who pretend to be UK but actually ship the product from Poland, Latvia or Slovenia) and they don’t keep Amplifi on stock, because it doesn’t sell. It wasn’t a good product four years ago and it’s still not a product I’d recommend.
Of course it doesn't sell because people will just buy the from the Unifi line from those suppliers instead.
I hadn't even heard of the system until recently, so obviously a victim of crap marketing. Other people are happy with it, I'm happy with it and that's all that matters to me.
**probably best to accept that we won't agree so let's not trash this guy's thread.
