I'm looking for a wired USB keyboard which has illuminated keys (my desk is in the shade). Ideally I'd like media control keys as well, but the budget is £50, and the keyboard must be no wider than 50cm, as it needs to fit into slot on my desk! Can anyone recommend anything decent?

YOUR BASKET
1 x TT eSports Challenger Pro Gaming Keyboard £47.99
1 x Gigabyte Aivia K8100 Gaming Keyboard £47.99
Total : £105.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

I have the gigabyte and am not particularly satisfied with it to be honest as my media keys randomly pick up input that is not happening and the back-light is a bit dim but has a nice big wrist rest (removable) and feels fairly sturdy (Do NOT, whatever you do, remove any of the keys with the keycap puller as my [,/<] keys clip broke and jumps out when you spam it.)

As for the Thermaltake, I have a technophobe friend who has the cheapo-non-LED version and seems to like it. It hasn't broken yet and this guy has a very common habit of breaking everything electrical that he comes into contact with... so that's good. Not too much info on the Tt other than that.

Both keyboards feel quite gummy to use and have a plasticky build so, personally, I'd recommend you spend more and go mechanical but it's definitely not a necessity.

Sorry for the essay :P

Thanks for the recommendations. It looks as if only the Corsair Raptor K30 will fit into my 50cm keyboard slot, so my decision seems pretty simple. Does anyone own one of these? Are they any good?

I do, just measured mine its 47cm long.

Cracking kit, you have 18 G keys which you can uses to your own pleasure, download software from the Corsair site and your good to go.

Very long usb cable which is sturdy.

You can change the brightness of the LED (3 settings), media keys, nice to type and game, very responsive and as its Corsair you get good build quality.

Thanks - that all sounds ideal.

I did a quick search for the Razer, and it wasn't available via the usual outlets (incl. Amazon) - it seems to be discontinued.

I love my razer,no issues at all, shame they discontinued it,there are newer razer models but more expensive

Microsoft Sidewinder X4? Media control keys, illuminated keys (3 brightness settings + off), macro keys (I don't use mine) and it is 48cm wide (measured mine).

Great keyboard for both typing and gaming. If I ever upgrade it will be for a mechanical keyboard, I don't think it is worth upgrading when this is such a nice keyboard though :).
