Free play up to rank 6 till 24th March - not played this in donkeys years? It any good these days? They fixed the bugs like the stealth suit showing up on max scoped sniper?

For a freebie its prob worth a look. What servers do ppl play on (for those that still do?)
 
I used to play this and loved it. It was the first MMORPG I ever played. This trial that they are running til March, is this the same part of the trial that was started in the beginning of the year and ran for a year?

As far as I knew you could only reach a certain level with your character? Apart from that it was the full game :).
 
Used to play just before they introducted the new BR's, considered going back actually. Anyone still play it? Has it changed much or is it still like it was before?
 
It hasn't changed much recently as there has been virtually no development work on it for quite some time now. Still the great game that it always was but it seems to have been set adrift by SOE which is really bad for a subscription game.

That free trial still constitutes probably the best demo you can spend your bandwidth on, I just would have thought it would be hard to get into good outfits when you're capped at BR 6. That's where the game really becomes good - in the organised play side of things.
 
Br 6 gives you what in equipment allowance? I seem to remember getting 2 "points" (cant remember the game term) to start with and 1 per level?

Low level equip (weapon loadouts and armour etc) being 2 the Maxx suits being 3 and vehicles starting at 2 for the quad bikes 3 for small vehicles and the mosquito, 4 for the reaver/lib and tanks?

Left game just as the lodestar/liberator were coming in :) Basically the demo gives 1 suit and 1 vehicle or there abouts then?

I used to be a fairly decent galaxy pilot back in the day, units hadnt really started back then :)
 
im playing atm, dunno why but its good at keeping me occupied, not a heavy player mind...br15 now, so starting to get a little more freedom.

if i wanted to sum it up its basically that you never seem to have enough cert points for what you want, but you learn to make do

Funny, im in the 8th highest (give or take) scoring Vanu Outfit and have been since br4, i would never want to be in any other outfit either. Cobalt, for reference

Sure some outfits are "br25 only" but they aren't "decent" outfits in my eyes. They are stat padders and kill whores, to me an outfit is about having a laugh whilst also being able to play well as a team and support newer players who are mature, not the "i wanna be 1337" type of noob.

Does that mean public beta and first 1/2 months of release :D

Easily one of the best gaming experiences before they nerfed everything + added patches that slowed the game down without getting rid of the bugs...
 
I used to play TR Werner. Finally got broadband having followed the game since beta. I'd played at friend's house before BFRs. It rocked back then and even after the game was soooo awesome it was untrue. Sadly, it went downhill thanks to SOE's lack of input and a little something called WoW.
 
TBH Ive been playing PS for over 2 years now and havent even thought about cancelling my sub. Ive been in the same outfit to and run the Alliance website for the TR. Every couple of months I change my play style to keep me interested Im going through the armour phase at the moment and may go to a cloaker phase next.
