Anyone remember the HL2 ati levels?

I remember back when hl2 was being released there was talk from valve about exclusive "ati levels".

Anyone remember what happened to these or did they basically stop production on them and start on the episodic content?

You can play that clifftop church level free of charge I think. There was a couple of hl2 things ati card owners could download free

Yeah that was 1 level which was a hdr tech demo, at the time ati cards didn't have hdr support. Not exactly what id class an an "ati level".

hmm I could have sworn the source engine was special in that the hdr effect was sm2.0 based.

ATI cards around the 9600/9800 period came with a voucher that was basically the Valve complete pack at the time. Half Life engine games and Source engine games of the time.

Yep i remember that too, you got hl2 free among other things when buying your card. I also remember them doing it with the ati 2900xt/pro cards

No they didn't, the HL2 vouchers were when Radeon 9800 was out completely trouncing nvidia!

Also afaik the Loast Coast was just a tech demo released to showcase the new HDR stuff and 64-bit capability back in 2005 don't think it was made for ATi.

ATI owned nVidia back then. the 9 series was awesome. nVidia's FX series failed hard.

I got my copy of HL2 free with my 9600XT

Also got into the CS:S beta with it as well, was well chuffed.
Don't recall anything about ATI specific levels though?

When HL2 was released, NV's top cards (6800 range) were very competitive.

True because that was the card which turned me I was ATi fanboy all the way since I clapped eyes on a 6800GT.

Since then nothing from ATi has come close to its Nvidia counter part IMO.
