I can't even remember what happened last Tuesday, so this thread has me baffled. Is it something to do with a flux capacitor ?

Won't be breaking any records at Sotheby's with that lot. Recycle centre will be happy to take them off your hands.

Wonder if that tv remote ever worked, seemed like one of those things that in practice was probably tested on all of about 2 TV's at best.

Walkmans were the bean back in the day, had the waterproof sports yellow one myself.

Id be keeping that stuff, but each to their own:)

at my school in the 90s someone had a watch with tvremote and they could change the channels on seemingly all the TVs the teachers used to show us docus and movies on

I still use my walkman.
The radio bit stopped working as some of the wires were in the hinged bit and I guess they just wore out. It still plays my tapes fine though. They just don't sound as good when converted to mp3.

Infact it came with a manual with all the standard codes which tv manufacturers use. If you had neither the manual or the remote you could always do it manualy and cycle through all the codes, which obviously took time but means it would pretty much work on any tv.

I had the non-learning version of that watch. You had to set a code for each tv/vcr manufacturer. I used to keep a copy of the codes in my school bag so I could mess with the teachers :)

:D

They went out the room and as we all sat we rewound the tape that would take us to the end of the lesson. Teacher came back and couldn't understand it.

Was even funnier if the teacher was at the back of the class marking the books and the tape kept stopping. He/she always getting up to press play. Was always hard keeping a straight face. So were the others nearby who knew what was going on.

Unreal still having it since 92 or 93 with a few strap changes. Still a Casio strap but they said they couldn't get the original strap.

Yup, we did that when we realised that the teacher had planned to hold a test after we'd watched the video.

Another time the teacher went out the room before we'd watched a video, I set the tv onto standby and it needed a remote so that it could be turned back on. The remote was missing. She went out the room for 10 mins to find someone to help, during which time I'd taken it back out of standby. She came in with another teacher to help only to then find it working perfectly

Hilarious thread :-)

I knew about the calculator-watches, didn't know they could change TV channels too.

On a similar vein I guess, and being hard of hearing, I had these radio aids so that I could hear the teacher better. However, they had the same range as wifi so would work 1-2 rooms away no probs. Sometimes, the teacher would leave the classroom briefly with his microphone still on, and still in range. I would eavesdrop using my hearing aids and relay to the rest of the class what he was saying. It quite often involved swearing :D
