The lights staying on usb and ps2 connected perephirals such as optical mice
and wireless usb sticks when pc is shutdown problem.
There is no jumper on the ds3 to disable power going to devices after shutdown
any ideas on a solution is this a known issue ? i hear people saying plug your mouse into the usb to solve this but doesnt work for me all usb device lights stay on not a huge issue but an annoying niggle all the same never happened on my asus a7n8x and it's the same mouse intellipoint optical.

Take the mouse out of ps/2 and put it into a usb port.

Or turn off wake on usb in the BIOS in Power Management setup.

thanks but i've just stated that it is still on in the usb port
+ theres no such option in the bios or jumper.
All usb devices with a led are on after shutdown.

Check you manual as i had to change a jumper on my mobo

(ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA PT880 Ultra Socket 775 SATA 8 channel audio ATX)

mine was up in the top left corner above the cpu

and after changing this the keyboard and mouse stopped lighting up when computer turned off.

its a bit weird having this feature set to on when shipped, would have been smarter to have it off then say if you want the feature to enable it.

dont think any such jumper exists on the ds3 its ceratainly not in the manual and i cant see it on the board

yea that's disabled doesnt make any difference thats first place i looked at.

check for something like a jumper block which claims to swap between +5VSB and +5V arround the cpu area, got mine in the same kinds place as jackassuk56, Abit AX8 - top left next to PS2 ports a jumper block, it changes the back pannel connectors from +5vsb rail to no connection when pc is off.

else wise, i use blutac

extract from the manual

Questions 2: Why is the light of my keyboard/optical mouse still on after computer shuts down?
Answer: In some boards, a small amount of electricity is kept on standby after computer shuts down and
that's why the light is still on.

have you tried leaving it on for like 10 mins??

and seeing if the mouse and keyboard are still lit then?

othewirse just pull the plug every time
