Same here really but Cod5 hasn't been too bad apart from the dodgy spawn points.

sweet! i made captain, but most people seem to be the highest rank, lots of people seem to cliam others are cheating. something you have come across?

After playing L4D to death I recently went back to playing COD 4...and I'd forgotten how good it was!

It won't take you long to get to level 55.
Myself and a couple of mates did run a COD 4 server for 12 months and players accusing each other of cheating was a daily occurrence to be honest. Some people just don't like getting owned and take it all a bit too seriously.
I banned a handful of players but it's usually fairly obvious when someone does come in with a proper hack.
A third party application is run on their pc which allows them to use such naughties as being able to see plays through walls and aimbots etc.
Since getting rid of the pc my laptop plays cod 4 just about so I have been back on it and there's plenty of players around. Just sold my copy of world at war on the members market!

I hate the fact that most servers have ''rules'' now eg. no martyr.
And I like playing with killcam enabled, non hardcore, not too large ( 20-26 people tops for most maps) , and preferably domination ( but any game mode will do). This leaves a very small list of servers for me which are playable ( eg. low ping/eu based) and those that are, are usually filled with people saying:
nub
Wallhacker
****ing Noobtubers
martyr noob
Cheater
idiot
etcetc
Or filled with actual noobs, making the game very boring, and even tedious in game modes like domination because they don't focus on winning...
Find me a good (mature) servers with stock rules and a good community and I'll be hooked on cod4 again.
Play cod5 now and I like it so far because WW2 weaponry is FAR cooler than bloody modern rubbish combat imo. But I'm annoyed by a lot of the maps ( too open, I liked the cod4 urban maps more) and I hate the fact they made everything a tad slower and I'm not talking about the weapons.

I just ignore the chat in COD4 tbh most of the time.

The only thing I don't like with COD5 is the fact it is so easy for little kids to vote you off, because you happen to kill them twice in a row, and again with a pistol
That's why all I'll do in COD5 these days is coop.

Im much prefered DOM when playing COD4 too , i moved onto COD WAW when it was released and prefer it overall to 4 , but ive always liked ww2 games

oh and cheats suck, im forever having to remove them from my server, PB catches a few of them but some slip through then make it blatant they are cheating, kinda dumb if you ask me lol
