Anyone still play Unreal Tournament 99 ?

99, 2k3 and 2k4 is my favourite series ever. I only really played instagib, especially the small frantic maps. Deck, Gael, wOOtabulous on a crt, my best fps gaming. Gutted when UT3 died early on. I still liked it, but the community quickly disappeared.

Can't remember many specific names but a load of us from here played kinda regularly for a while, must've been 2004-2006, I remember @B&W, Basmic and Blighter were involved, but for the rest of the gang I'm drawing blanks. Funny how it felt ancient even then :p

Do they plan on giving back the money people spent on a (mainly multiplayer) game? The same thing happened with Super Bomberman R online.

Slightly annoying to pay for multiplayer games then x years down the line they shutdown servers

I enjoyed the trailer to UT more than the actual game. I was mega into TFC and the first beta of CS was starting around then too, so I didn't really play it much but an issue of PC Gamer came with an interview with one of the team and it was so well done - I watched it a few times.

...found it! Good old YT:

As an aside I have a deep loathing for developers/publishers who sunset games making them unplayable any more and absolutely refuse to purchase any future IP from them.

I'm like this with EPIC. I was not happy when they kicked the Alpha to the curb. That was quite popular and actually very good. It would have been an incredible game once finished. And 100s of people still playing instagib 99.

I don't get it. Not everyone wants to play ******* Fortnite lol.

Yeah I really like the 'new' UT game that they were developing with the community before they dropped it when Fortnite blew up
