Anyone still playing CS:Source

Try 26000 servers :p

We have 2 of our own. Plenty of mods, but the game has been fiddled with too much and is now quite broken. Cod4 ***.
 
source feels wrong to me, having pld 1.6 for so long i doubt i will ever adapt to it.

1.6 wasnt the best version granted. and the 24/7 dust maps and french servers are annoying to say the least.

miss the days where you would have an awesome map rotation.

cs_docks - de_nuke - cs_thunder - de_prodigy - de_aztec - cs_militia - as_tundra - cs_mansion - cs_assault - de_dust - cs_office - de_rotterdam - cs_arabstreets

and i remember a map in beta called de_railroad, thats going back a bit :)

obviously if your a clan member your gonna be stuck to a certain few maps but for me public was fun when there was a server with a great rotation.
 
been playing CS since 2001 i think - and i don't think i'll ever stop. new games come along and they take up my time for a few days-week or so but i always go back to CS

VIA admins are morons, i swear to god some of them are about 11 :eek:
 
As long as you find a server with strick and good admins then its still very popular and great fun. Cheating still happens but they get found out and booted very quickly.

Man ... I'd forgotton about Docks, Thunder and Rotterdam. They were amazing! I might have to put 1.6 back on and go searching.

I play Source every day. Love it. But again, you need to find decent servers and stick to them. You get to know the core players then and it's much more fun.

Just to add a little nostalgia to the thread: what was your favourite version and why?

Brings back memories! I also loved as_highrise, think it was new in b7. All old skool maps before the 'retail' versions were released.

I loved b6 since the mod was still pretty new but started to get recognition.
 
It's something that you forget about for literally years, yet return on a whim and have as much fun as ever. It's a design classic... I wonder if the modders who originally created it had any inkling of the impact it would have.

Although I preferred the earlier non-Source incarnations, I generally play CS:S.

I've been recruited into a newly formed clan, a couple of them are very good. The rest are above average, however they have not even played a friendly together yet so I am holding my breath atm :p

I play CS for quick enjoyment, ie it is fired up quick without CD and you can play for short periods on lower number maps.
