Anyone Still Use Play.com?

Used them for the first time in years when I bought the new Nexus 7 2013. They installed fear into me when I got the tracking information for Yodel. Yodel actually delivered on time...

I used to use them all the time. I have placed 280 orders with them, my first being in 2002 and ordered Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones DVD.

2013 13" MacBook Air for £699 is a result I got recently....I remember years ago when I ordered so many DVDs (before bluray) in their new year sale that the postman made a special journey in his van twice in one day just to deliver them...:) I also returned a Harmon Kardon DVD player I broke for a full refund (£229 iirc) without any question after 13 months of ownership...I broke the DVD tray by dropping something on it while it was open...play.com were great for customer service.

It's not the same now though, its simply a marketplace...

Yeah, play got slower and more expensive. The owners bailed out when they lost the Channels Islands tax loophole. After that, it just became a marketplace selling from other smaller companies, so why bother? Plenty of better, cheaper, faster places to shop.

This .. Have not used them for years.

Last time I used them I think it was around 2003-4? They used to be good with stuff coming the next day but their prices went up and so did their delivery times and i've not used them since.

Same as everyone else, I used them a lot in the past but I haven't used them in years and I don't think I will be anytime soon.

Haven't used them in about 2 years, ordered a tshirt for my girlfriend for Christmas at the end of November, received it in February. Not best pleased.

Would be interested to see how good their new streaming service is though, looks interesting.

This thread reminds me of the fact I have had a business Play account for over a year and have not checked it for over a year. Oops.

I used to get a lot of orders for Rap cd's through Play and then 9/10 they would demand their money back and not send the item back, so I simply stopped checking it as I could not find a way to disable it anywhere.
Thankfully I never registered my ltd company on Play only my soletrader status.

I only used Play because I worked in their returns dept. and we were allowed to buy returned stock. 50% of the returned goods were unopened/box damaged and we got like 20% or so discount on everything.

When I bought something from OcUK last week I was shocked that, apart from a hard drive last year, my last major purchase was 2009. It's not as if I buy much elsewhere either. I need more spends :(

That's still probably more recent a purchase than from Play though :)
