Anyone upgraded from a 7800 GT to an X1900

If so were you impressed?

was it worth it?

I'm contemplating this upgrade and it would be good to hear from people who have actually done it.

I will hopefully be doing this shortly - ie this week - if you can wait until the weekend I will do my best to give you some indication.

I am also moving house - so if you can bare with me then great - but hopefully I wont be the only one doing this ( upgrading not moving hahaha)

I gone from two 7800gtx in sli to a single xt1900xt-x..

The performance of the xt1900xt-x is very very close to my 7800gtx sli setup.

The xt1900xt-x is even Faster in some games.(x3-reunion is one, In king kong the xt1900 is almost twice the speed of my 7800gtx sli)

and can I ask you why you went for an XTX when the XT's are so close in core and memory speeds? Even lixel pipelines look the same !! ( Or have I missed something?)

At the time it was only £30 more then the xt1900xt in this weeks only deal...
And there was rumors that some the xt1900xt would ship with slower memory..

But if i was going buy one again..I would get the xt1900xt at the cheap prices i seen them going for now..

Ive upgraded from a GTX to a X1900XT, the thing is I only bought the GTX last week and havent even recieved it yet

I just saw a X1900xt for £350 notes today so had to have it

Quickest upgrade I ever done!!

/note to self .. must stop buying Gfx cards..

Upgraded from an extreme GT to an X1900XT. At 4xAA 16xAF its still way faster than the GT @ 2xAA 2xAF in FEAR and at 2xAA 2xAF its like playing quake 3 its so smooth.

There all the same..Your just paying more for which sticker you want on the heatsink..

Unless one has a free game you want or something..

2d mode its silent. 3d mode it spins up a bit and you can just about hear it.

The fan has a very annoying whine to it..

All heatsinks and waterblocks that fit the xt1800xt are meant to fit the xt1900 range..I not tryed myself..

I have both..Two 7800gtx sli and single xt1900xt-x..

98fps at 1920x1200 4xaa 8xaf Two 7800gtx in sli (485/1300)
72fps at 1920x1200 4xaa 8xaf xt1900xt-x (690/795)

King Kong
about 60fps two 7800gtx 256mb in sli
about 120fps single xt1900xt-x

X3-reunion =
52fps at 1920x1200 4xaa 8xaf Two 7800gtx in sli (485/1300)
54fps at 1920x1200 4xaa 8xaf xt1900xt-x (690/795)

touring cars3 demo
200fps at 1920x1200 4xaa 8xaf Two 7800gtx in sli (485/1300)
135fps at 1600x1200 4xaa 8xaf xt1900xt-x (690/795)

Fear =
50fps at 1920x1200 4xaa 8xaf Two 7800gtx in sli (485/1300)
48fps at 1920x1200 4xaa 8xaf xt1900xt-x (690/795)

Call of Duty 2 = about 5 to 10fps slower on the xt1900xt-x at 1920x1200
