Anyone use a Mac for their daily corporate Laptop?

I use Miro a lot (new place have got a license too) but I find it more useful for white boarding with clients rather than full design diagrams but I could just be being picky. I’ll have a play and see. Cheers for that!

It's fine for the stuff I do but yeah, it does have its limitations and if you're doing rack diagrams as an example it's lacking. Thankfully for what I do, block based high level is sufficient.

We use Lucidchart, but also used draw.io which I know has rebranded at some point, but the URL still works. Haven't touched Visio in ages now, unless it's changed any in the last 2-3 years it feels like a step back in time almost. I'm doing some testing with diagrams via code at the moment which is pretty cool too.

My work MacBook Pro arrived mid last week and I've started setting it up (Note I use a MBP at home so I know OSX well).

Already hitting some issues that mean using a MBP in a corp environment is a PITA! Issues I'm having at the moment:

  • OneDrive won't Sync due to security settings limiting syncing to Domain joined devices only. Note the Mac is Domain joined and Intune managed. I've raised this one as a case with Microsoft.
  • Lack of Visio. I knew this one already and I'm looking at alternatives.
  • Some corporate apps just don't have an osx version. Parallels is an option, but trying to work on other solutions before using that.
  • 802.1x Wifi means I currently can't connect to any corporate WIFI SSIDS.. only Guest internet only SSIDs. TOTAL PITA ands the biggest issue at the moment. Still trying to figure this one out but no luck so far.

Mine works flawlessly, Workspace One pushes all the config and certificates to the Mac and I simply join the network.
