Friend has just told me about crossover so you can run .exe files and Windows Games. Anyone used it as this would great if it could run BF2 as miss this from Windows.

Crossover is great for the stuff it specifically supports. BF2 is flagged as:

Wow, that is a very useful website Feek.

Cheers

:)

Quick question, what is performance like, say if i was going to run Counter strike on it, would it perform properly (frames per second wise) or would it be like trying to run it on Virtual PC in windows?

Im using VMWare Fusion and although it runs FS9 at 640x480 at med settings, its 15FPS.

In bootcamp, it will do 1920x1200 at max everything at 20FPS...

So honestly, dont bother. Bootcamp it.

apart from my bloody bluetooth keyboard! lol

I've been using Crossover for CSS and it runs perfectly fine, a few artifacts here or there where it can't quite render the shadows properly, but apart from that, no difference at all!

Yes, Crossover is very good for stuff they've tweaked it for. Effectively it emulates all the calls and responses that the application needs, it's not a virtual machine in the same way the Parallels and VMWare are.

I used to use it to play Eve-Online with the Windows client because it worked better than the native OS X client but now the native client has improved somewhat, I don't use it any more.

In fact, if Crossover hadn't been available for me to play Eve, I'd probably not have gone Mac.
