I'm using Diskeeper 11 Pro and the pink files it refers to are system files which I don't think will be touched by the de-fragmentation process.

I could not get one with Diskeeper. I always told me my MFT was not right but i knew it was.
So i moved to Perfectdisk and its great, it does off line defrag of the MFT,meta, and Paging file.

I used Diskeeper for a while but their agressive email advertising policy ****** me off so i moved to O&O Defrag. Glad i did, it's much better imo.

Not to mention that if you have a 64-bit O/S, with diskeeper you have to pay £47 for their professional product. Crazy:eek:

You want PageDefrag mate. :) A SysInternals program. Will defrag the swap files, hibernation files and your all important registry files. :)

(Yes - SysInternals now owed by M$... but don't worry.. these guys are experts and not M$ trained... Worth digging into their other utils)

Also - do your defrag in Safe Mode. Will have less files locked.
