Anyone use nicotine on purpose for "cognitive enhancement" and the like?

No I've always found a nicotine rush to make me less focused .

But I dont think I have adhd so maybe that' why

Yeah lung cancer rate. There's been no evidence found swedish style snus causes cancer. It's steam pastuerized so has a very low nitrosamine content compared to burned or cured tobacco.

Not placebo!

"To my knowledge, nicotine is the most reliable cognitive enhancer that we currently have, bizarrely,” said Jennifer Rusted, professor of experimental psychology at Sussex University in Britain when we spoke. “The cognitive-enhancing effects of nicotine in a normal population are more robust than you get with any other agent. With Provigil, for instance, the evidence for cognitive benefits is nowhere near as strong as it is for nicotine."

Lowest total cancer rate across the board? Because of this product? Or lowest lung cancer rate?

There's a huge difference, but pinning overall total cancer rates being lower due to this one prduct completely undermines proper epidemiology studies. I think you want this to work for you, so it will. Enjoy the placebo

I don't think its the nicotine, etc. as such - I'm mildly along similar lines in terms of the whole ADHD/Autistic thing - when I'm working on stuff at my PC and have like certain TV shows or some YouTube videos on in the background (not just anything works but a lot does) I think clearer, more focused on the task at hand, I'm more articulate if I have to talk to someone, etc. etc.

Though you can't so easily tote that around with you like the effects of nicotine, etc.

There are actually some papers that back up his suggestion, as crazy as it might sound initially.

Apparently some potential benefits for Parkinson's, ADHD etc...
