Anyone use Twitter?

I don't get Twitter.

I'd like to, 'cos I think it'd be a good idea if I was meeting mates in town and they could see I'd left the house, or was on t'interweb and things like that.

But I just don't 'get' having to type everything into it, coming out doing what I've gotta do, going back in, updating, etc.

I'd have thought there'd be some kinda daemon that sits in the background monitoring what you're doing rather than doing it all manual.
 
I only use twitter as my climbing buddy follows me on it so we can update each other with what we do and where we are, also use it as a lazy way to update my facebook status :p

Bit useless unless you know a few other people that use it as it's essentially a blog to let your friends/coworkers know what you're doing

I was going to sign up the other day but didn't know anyone else that used it

Perhaps we could all sign up and use it for any pointless bits of info that might otherwise clog up the forum
 
hehe, I've actually stopped using it now - I use tumblr instead, as the observant may have guessed. I like posting quotes and pictures and videos so it's a little more "up my alley" as it were.

Just giving this a go cos there's a nice little app for the iPhone. I like the idea, not sure if I can find a proper use for it mind.
 
That site states its a "modern antidote to information overload".. which is nonsense!

How can putting more information out there be an antidote.
 
I have a client who uses it on their website (crufts) just used to keep registered members in the know as to whats happening. Twitter have changed some stuff recently so the flash APi isnt functioning....GRRR guess who job it is to fix/find a way around it.
