Hey guys,

As we all know, cable spaghetti is almost unavoidable. No matter how much you velcro everything together, it still ends up looking like a mess; but an organized mess at least. (I spent an hour velcroing stuff behind my TV and while it's less of a mess, it's still a mess!

Well, I came across the BlueLounge Cable Box. At £30 it's an expensive bugger, but it looks to do the job just right. Stuff everything in it, close it. Oh hey, almost no cable mess!

Now that alone should spur me into buying it, but because it's a little on the expensive side, wondering if anyone on OCUK owns it and how well it works? I know it's designed for american plugs, but it should still be big enough.

Otherwise, how do you guys solve your cable spaghetti mess? (Pics are very welcome)

Edit: Oh, by the way, how long are surge protected 6 way power extensions? Would it fit in the box? Check out the dimensions of the box here:

A sexy box, damn it. Probably won't go with it though.

Second point of the topic still stands though, what's your cable management solutions?

I use two of these for behind my desk from ikea.

They used to do a box just like that one for behind your tv and whatever else for about £12 i think it was but i think it's discontinued now.

£30 for that box?

You can get boxes much cheaper than that, and it doesn't do anything to help with the real problem, cable snarling.

Yup, that much for a simple box.

I figured I could just velcro tie them and them stuff them in the box, I guess not.

But it seems for especially behind a TV, there is just no other way to avoid cable spaghetti than a box.

A quick google search just bring up that box. My google fu is lacking.

If I wanted to tidy up an area of cables I would try and use the shortest cables I could get away with for a start so there isn't much excess simply just making a mess. Once that is done I would get a bunch of cable sleeving and just group the cables together the best way I could with that. Try and group the cables in to as big as bunches as possible as otherwise it's just going to look the same or worse than before. Try not to make any sharp bends or keep any cables too taut as you can cause damage to the cables themself amongst other problems.

You could try pinning cables to the wall if you think that's what's best too. You can also get those sticky ones which a cable will sit in which you can stick to furniture.

To be honest if you just have a lot of cables in a small space there isn't a lot you can really do apart from the above. A lot of cables coming and going to different places in a cramped area is always going to look a bit of a mess. If it really bothers you that much you could try using furniture to hide the cables (for example a big wooden tv cabinet/shelf which the cables could run down the back of).

Yeah, it's pretty much the small space problem.

A desk won't be an issue as it's easy to tidy those up, behind the TV is a huge pita. Which is why I was thinking velcro up all the cables in groups, stuff them in a box and forget. I just make sure to give them leeway and never make them too tight.
