Anyone used Sigma for lens calibration?

I'm planning a sigma purchase for my 60D,

As the 60D had no MA, I'm expecting to have to send it to Sigma, with the body to be calibrated (if I dont have to then bonus), but whats the procedure?
Obviously it will be under warrenty but are there additional costs?
What am I looking at for postage, turn around time etc.
Who do I speak to to arrange it?

I've never had to send in a lens for calibration so can't comment on that.

I had to send my 70-200mm to Sigma for calibration last year. They needed me to send my D90 to them as well because they didn't have one there. They might have your camera already if you're lucky. It took a month for me to get my camera and lens back but that was only because the lens needed a new circuit which had to be sent from Japan. If your lens doesn't need any new parts I'd say you can expect to get it back in about a week.

My lens was purchased used from ebay and was well out of it's warranty period. Even so, the final cost was £34.73 which I thought was a bargain. The lens is now super sharp so that 34 quid was money well spent.

I wouldn't worry about it until you've got the lens and used it!

For my money going into the purchase with the attitude that the lens and camera will need to be sent of means that when you get it you will be pre disposed to see issues that are not their to validate your already chosen course of action.

The vast majority of Sigma lenses are fine out of the box it is a myth that they all need calibrating because they are so rubish.

The vast majority of canon lenses are fine out of the box, but i've just returned the third copy of the 50mm f/1.4 USM for a refund and gone for the 30mm sigma.
Its nothing to do with sigmas reputation, its because my body doesnt have a very good track record as far as wide primes go and the 60D does not have MA so manual calibration is the only way to go, therefore i'm buying with the intention of sending for calibration (unless I dont have to as I've already stated).
