Anyone used TooGoodToGo app?

Never heard of this before, just downloaded and checked it out. Seems decent but I don't like not knowing what I'm going to get haha.. prices are good though. See a roast carvery on there for £3 but it was already taken.

Yeah if youve got any form of allergies or intolerances it's not the best

We've tried it a couple of times for yo Sushi, very hitty missy.
Once was two trays of pretty much the exact same thing repeated haha.

never bothered with the carvery type places as I imagine it's just the veg thats sat warming for ages?

Thankfully I don't have any allergies or intolerances. I'll eat anything lol.

On the carvery it says "a delicious roast dinner with all the trimmings" I would definitely get one of those for £3 to try it

Just looked this up. Gonna get on ebike tomorrow evening and pick up a carvery. If its amazing I might make it a regular thing

Picked up 2 carveries.
3.50 each. Half hour trip in total on the ebike. Seems pretty good.

TGTG works well for us at a local wholesale bakery that supplies shops and restaurants nearby. You basically buy goods baked that day that won’t keep at a fraction of what they’d cost normally.

Great if you have a chest freezer.

That's half of it. Was 3.30

I found in it.
Roast beef
Yorkshire
Gravy
Roast carrot
Peas
Green beans
Mashed potato
Roast potato
Cauliflower and cheese
Stuffing.

Has lasted 2 meals.

Beef looks a bit dodge but I guess it's not bad for cheap.

It's a bit fatty but like said. Can't really moan for 3.quid.

I'll be swapping my domino's 20 quid twice a month for this

I'd say it's quite 'sugary' too compared to a home cooked roast. Might be gravy.

I've got the app installed but I never find any bags. Round here there is a huge demand for food banks (Eastbourne were on the main news last week about that) so I'm not even bothered I won't get a cheaper meal as there are clearly more desperate people needing them.

Used it a few times in Kentish Town (London) and its pretty good actually. :) I got a few pasty/bread-y type things from a local bakery. Probably around 3-4 items per time.

Carveries don’t roast their potatoes long enough for me. I like them really well done with fluffed up edges so they go nice and crispy.

Id stick them in the air fryer for a few minutes.

Had the vegetable carvery from a Stonehouse restaurant, was very good.
Had a breakfast selection from Pret, was not so good.

Very hit or miss depending on the food chain restaurant.

That carvery lasted 2 meals! That less than 2 quid! Crazy. Why have I not used this before?

Now I've found my local greene King pub does it (1 mile away). Might be better? Not sure.

So yes I'm dropping domino's (which has increased in price a lot and now charges delivery and isn't as tasty) and going for this instead.

It's probably slightly healthier too!

That's 2 meals a week covered!

I have used the local community fridge in the past. For those who have not heard of one, it’s like a food bank but you don’t need to claim certain benefits and pick what you fancy. Whereas most food banks, you get a box of food.

Also have donated stuff from TGTG magic bags to the community fridge if I don’t eat the food such as spring greens and white bread.

Tried it a month ago.

First time got a very anemic cheese and tomato baguette from Upper Crust (the display was rammed full of every kind of baguette they sell), and 3 danish-type pastries. It was definitely cheap at £3.99 but I wasn't interested in the pastries and the baguette was a copout.

Second time was for Costa. Cancelled on me just as I was about to leave to go pick it up.

Never tried since.
