I hear this is possible? Somehow you make the pc think its an xinput (360) controller

I was just wondering if it works for everything like big picture mode in steam etc and to make it wireless do i just need to buy any old bluetooth adaptor for usb?

This may not be the right section for this but i think its where it will get the most interest

Thanks!

(I would just plug it in but my pc now sits beside my tv and boots straight to big picture so the cable isnt long enough to reach my sofa XD)

Ive got to ask, why on earth? Youd get your butt handed to you in mp, why not just use a console and save yourself the cost of upgrading a pc? I cant imagine it would be worth it for the graphics? Surely most games factor in a faster response time for pc versions making any pc game a bit of a mare to play on a pad?

Nope, totally untrue. Some games are just better. Obviously multiplayer yes, can be pretty hard. But single player. Batman games being the first ones that springs to mind, great playing on a pad. Racing games too, much easier on a pad than a keyboard/mouse.

I play some games with my 360 gamepad, Lego, Batman.

For FPS I use KB&M as its a sin to use a gamepad for that but

In BF4 I use the 360 for heli's and jets.

Nobody sane would use a joypad in an FPS game but for many other games joypads make sense.

Lol? Naive much?

Most games work better with a pad, and not everyone games on their PC at the desk.

I have the option, display to my ok'ish 24" lcd. Or to my lush 50" plasma...

Both displaying at a respectable 1920x1080. Which is good enough for me.

Meaning, I like to sit back and enjoy games on the pad instead of the desk with KB mouse.

Dark souls.

Any ways i didnt want this to turn in to one of these debates, thanks for those sticking with the topic of getting this pad to work on pc

Will have a look about after work to see if its worth it as i hate the 360 pad for some reason

Maybe i should add for this chap that as in op, i now have my pc set up to my tv to use big picture mode in steam and will use it to play single player games with full controller support. Im not UPGRADING a pc just for this. I wouldnt use a pad for fps or multiplayer on pc as i agree that its not as accurate for that but some enjoy it so fair play to them

This is mainly for the cool little indie games, third person stuff and racers :)

As already mentioned there are plenty of games where using a joypad is advantageous or even necessary. In my own library I have a few games that I barely play, purely because I don't have a 360 pad and I can't get my DualShock 3 working properly with said games.

Makes sense, i suppose its no different to a wheel or hotas setup. If its easier, its easier. I am looking forward to the steambox and getting used to those controls simply for the oculus, cant imagine a kb setup will be much use.

Lol schools out.

I have mine plugged in.

It makes your computer think its a 360 pad so it works for everything that supports the 360 pad. The only annoying thing is that it shows you the xbox button prompts so I get confused sometimes :p

Cool! Just what i need!

Yea i thought the prompts would be annoying but can ignore them i suppose as they match up button wise

Whilst certain games like driving games and platformers etc are definitely good with a joypad... FPS Games are definitely not in that list :|

On the plus side, it might work well for the vehicle control but not for running around on foot :/
