I'm looking at the usual suspects here...Leon?

;) :p

Simpson Salvage seem to have acquired a bunch of unused and unabused shells for Fords.... they've got some mk5 Scort Cabs, mk1 Mondeos but i thought most interestingly for us lot would be this....

Mk1 Sierra XR4x4 shell - £599

They say they have others available, don't know if there's anything else retro

Buy shell, buy 5 litre Mustang running gear for £500, leave them alone in a lock up with some wine, candles and Chris De Burgh CDs then hoon around in the offspring.

What's the deal with the Dodge?... It's sunny now so there's no excuse ! :)

PPC Had a feature about making a budget cossie-killer out of a sierra t'other month.

Someone snap it up! :p

A lovely clean 4x4 shell. Don't let somebody waste it with oafish 4x4 running gear though, Sierras should be left as god intended - with 2 plumes of smoke billowing from the rear wheels only.

Don't you mean "full of kids and shopping"? It's only an old Mondeo you know ;)

And don't make it a sodding RS500 replica either.

Clean, smooth, sodding big engine and fat rubber.

I have a hankering for a mega-early (A-reg?) Sierra in povo-spec...You remember the ones with the grey plastic noses and odd lights? So cheap that they didn't get painted at the factory...

Now get one of those, drop in a Ford 302, a Borgwarner T5, 15x8 / 15x9 Weller/Mattig steels and rock some gen-u-wine '80s hubcaps...

Stealth mode ;)

Thinks they UK 'Pimp My Ride' should be given to penski to host and renamed 'Pimp my Skip'.

Must admit i do like the sound of that old sierra!

There different. ;) (XR4i & RS 500/Cosworth Shells)

Yup, not the same...the XR4i shell can be turned into a 3dr shell but it takes hacking of the quarter panels and other bodywork...
:)

Oh maybe it was the XR4i 3 door shell i was thinking of(same as the RS500 shell).
the xr4i shell was known as the "six-lite" shell due to an extra pillar dividing the rear quarter light in two.
the 500 shell is different to all others, the hatchback cosworth included.

Seam welded iirc ? - Or, was that the 4x4 Sapphire? - Can't find my "RS Fords" Book by J.Walton, top read!

Along with GP A Suspension mountings etc already fitted. :)

all sapphire shells are identical, 1.6 to cossie.
the 3 door cossie shells were strengthened and the 500 had 2 sets of mounting points for the rear suspension (for track use) IIRC
