Anyone with a 9950X3D running high Mhz RAM kits?

I should test this out sometime those YouTube vids especially from the smaller content creators are sketch AF.

So I have one set of 6000 c28 and another set of 8000 c32. While I can’t imagine at 4k that it be a huge difference at 1080p it could be,not that I would ever use 1080p. I could do a like for like setup besides the mem and see what results I would get.

That would be nice to see. I believe the OP is at 1440p so it might help.
MSFS being very CPU bound in his scenario so squezzing the performance out the ram might help?

Correct me if I am wrong I think the general thinking is why not just run 6000 instead of 8000, is because 8000mhz it helps out with the minimum framerates which could be beneficial to a game like MSFS.

I don;t know too much about MSFS besides it for the most part being a bit of a CPU guzzler. I mean I don't how MSFS users find stuff like frame generation to be as that would be an ideal usecase for it. But for those MSFS buffs out there where paying $$$$ for a gpu is not an option if they have a mem set that can be clocked to help with minimums then that could be worth considering although it a lot of faffin about.

The problem with the above video is that they are running their 8000 set at cl40. with a bit of tweaking they could get that down to c32. use an Fclk of 2200 if their cpu can do that.

TBH I rather not mess about with memory stuff the only reason I bother as I picked up a 8000 set for cheap from here and try out the advice that these guys post here. I am a kind of set XMP/Expo type of person although I don;t even do that and just enter memory timing manually just a force of habit since the 5950x/12900k days.

Just a waste of money when op already has 6000 cl28. Just send it to me if you have it spare need to fill the hole the 5090 left

Thanks for the reply folks, gah, didn't realise I'd need a new mobo.

Is it worth me keeping an eye out for low CAS 6400 RAM then? or can you not run 1:1 ?

(I don't have time anymore in life for days of tweaking, Plug in and go is what I'm looking for.

Checkout the AMD DDR5 thread on OCN, plenty have RAM at higher speed on 2DPC, lower end boards. This is dual rank on B650 at 6400, link, here's one on B650E, link. Dual rank ie 32GB DIMMs are harder to use then single rank DIMMs like 16GB/24GB. People have got 8100MHz on lowest end B650 boards, read near the end of this post.

Also I'd say don't discount budget buys. I bought Kingbank Dark 6800C32 2x48GB M die kit, this is initial setup link. Note the weight of the RAM, check out TPU reviews, they weigh them. You'll find many a RAM kit have a lot less weight, so poorer heatspreaders. My rig has had no down time since that post. I have kept using PC and tweaking. Even the setup in this video I have gained tighter timings.
